#storiesbytanya
Dance can tell a story.
With #storiesbytanya, we attempt to capture what it means to be human. The moments that make us feel so utterly alone. And moments that define us. Moments of pure bliss & gratitude. Yet moments of shame. What does it mean to capture this through movement? Find out below.

"Pride..." is about our fears, vulnerabilities, and pain. How do we address our pain when we are so afraid to acknowledge it? Especially to the people who have hurt us? What happens to our sense of self when we become so dependent on the person we love?
Filhall.
"In a different lifetime..." looks at a world where love isn't enough. Where we find ourselves having feelings when we shouldn't. Is it possible to love more than one person?
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.
"Love is in the small things..." is a story of how we can overcome social norms & cultural inhibitions to find moments of truth. Moments when we can candidly & courageously express our feelings. Even if we can't find the words, love can be seen in the simple actions we take.
Bekhayali.
"The thought of you remains..." is a story of broken hearts. There is no right or wrong. There is no black and white. Sometimes we find that the pieces remain broken. Sometimes we find the remnants in our thoughts.
Eli Re Eli.
Who loves a good cheesy Christmas story? "Tis the season for loved ones..." is a story of friendship. This Christmas season I wanted to show how friendship can help us overcome anything. Even when things are going wrong, we always have people who support & love us. Remember you are never alone :)
Valam.
“With you...” A story of living with your favorite person. Waking up and recognizing how blessed you are to have this person in your life. Not everything will be rainbows & butterflies and of course, you'll fight. But it's finding moments in the mundane. In the simplicity of life. And in its chaos. You have every right to ask for someone who will love you unconditionally. Flaws and all..
Brown Mean Girls.
If Mean Girls had an all brown cast....
Paagal.
"Stand up for yourself..." is a story of finding the courage to face your bullies. I found my strength in dance. But you can find it anywhere. It lies within you. The power to stand up for yourself.
Bijli Ki Taar.
"There is more to us than a dating profile..." is a story of awkward first dates. What happens in a world where relationships are formed online? How do we transition from a digital interaction to a real one? More importantly, what are our expectations and how do we manage those expectations? How is Social Media affecting our ability to connect with people? I hope we continue to see past the superficiality of what makes us different, so that we may focus on our shared values because there is so much more to us than a dating profile.
Dheeme Dheeme.
"See you in my dreams..." is a story of innocence and friendship. Remember your first love? Maybe you didn't even realize when you started to fall. And it happened slowly, slowly.
